There's an update to the platform on our document download feature. Previously downloads were controlled by group permissions; either your user group could download or they couldn't. However, we've just added a function to allow permissions on the document rather than the user.
Now, when you go to create a document you'll see a new toggle under 'settings' on the authoring page;
These authoring settings will turn on/off the download button on the piece of content, however, user group download permissions are still in effect. This means that if a group doesn't have the 'download document' ability then they won't see the download option, regardless of the authoring settings.
This has been rolled out across all sites and will be visible for all users who can publish document content.
