Best of 2018 - highlights from our customer communities
Ahead of the fast-approaching festivities, here are 12 highlights (for the 12 days of Christmas) showcasing how our customers put Zapnito to good use.
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s (OECD) annual forum is a key event on the political and business calendar. The OECD has invited members of its Zapnito-powered Forum Network to directly inform the agenda of its 2018 event and thereby help find solutions to some of society’s biggest challenges.
Zapnito has video publishing built-in, with customers able to upload videos directly to their network or create them using our video panels feature. So it’s not surprising that we frequently get asked how to ‘do’ video. That’s why it’s worth taking a look at Future Science Group’s video channel on RegMedNet - they’ve got a whole range of great examples.
Our channel widgets feature allows you to pull content from a channel on your Zapnito network to any other website. When new content is added to your Zapnito site, it’ll automatically appear in the widget on your other site. Magic! McGraw-Hill are using this to great effect on their AccessMedicine site, showcasing content from three channels, including the fascinating Case of the Week.
We’re often asked how much a Zapnito homepage can be customised. The answer is: a lot. Even using the standard design template without a custom theme, there’s a lot you can do with the widgets and code snippets to make your homepage your own. The Forum for Expatriate Management’s new homepage is a great example.
If, like all of us, you are trying to keep up with the opportunities and challenges presented by new technology, the Digitalisation channel on the OECD’s Forum Network is a must-visit. They’ve used the channel to create a steady stream of content from some of the world’s leading experts on the digital revolution.
The FEBS Network gave us some great examples this year of how to enhance your events using Zapnito. Check out this channel that showcases the FEBS Letters journal’s 50th Anniversary Symposium and the site’s host of event-related rooms. The latter includes a room specifically for young scientists in conjunction with FEBS’s annual Young Scientists’ Forum, a private online space to support news, learning and interaction around the event.
We love RegMedNet’s weekly news round-ups. They’re a great example of providing users with a ‘one-stop-shop’ when it comes to their field of interest, ensuring they don’t need to hunt around for relevant news.
Publisher Springer Nature, which has multiple Zapnito communities launched the Behavioural & Social Sciences community this year. It’s designed for sharing and discussing ideas and opinions across the behavioural and social sciences landscape, bringing together researchers from across related but often diffuse disciplines - a great example of how community can foster new, valuable connections.
Psychologies’ Life Labs community has long been a great source on expertise on all aspects of wellbeing. Now, members can find an expert to help them no matter what their concern – career, relationships, family – with Life Labs’ new life coaches directory. A great use of our directories tool.
The Oystercatchers Club network made great use of our native video functionality to post highlights from the Festival of Marketing. Uploading video directly to the platform makes it stand out from the crowd. And what an engaging way to share expert insights on the Festival.
The UK Edge is home to some brilliant thought-leadership content. This video from J.P. Morgan Client Portfolio Manager Andrew Robbens on the prospects for the UK high street provides real value to readers, while showcasing the company’s expertise on the subject.
We’re perhaps saving the best for last here, with this case study about publisher Springer Nature. With 30 Zapnito sites, from research communities to private editorial board hubs, they have attracted more than 1.6 million page views this year. Download the case study here.
